1.1 Master of Theology in Mission

The United College of Theology and Missions (UCTM), 5th Mile Dimapur, in collaboration process with the Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, Meghalaya, launched its new academic program—“Master of Theology (MTh) in Mission” on 4th February, 2021 by UCTM chairman, Rev. Dr. N. Tzudir. The program is designed to provide specialized training in biblical, theological, contextual and cross-cultural praxis of Church in doing missions. This course is set to begin by June, 2021. UCTM invites interested candidates to apply for the program either online or offline.

  1. Vision   

The vision is to see Christ-like servant leaders/pastors, missiological thinkers, teachers, and writers proficient in missiological research, cultural exegesis and interpretation, possessing intercultural competencies and ministerial skills to serve the church fulfilling the Great Commission among the unreached people and also to meet the need the modern congregations.

  1. Purpose

The Master of Theology (MTh) in Mission program is designed to provide specialized training in biblical, theological, contextual and cross-cultural missions, and in so doing seeks to develop transformational and missiological scholar-leaders. This program is to prepare trainers of cross-cultural missionaries with a view to updating and meeting the need of their modern congregations.

  1. Goal

Master of Theology (MTh) in Mission program is to meet   

  • The increasing demand from churches to up-gradate their BD/MDiv level pastors/leaders, also to update and meet the need of modern congregations.
  • Professional need of advanced degrees in academic colleges/seminaries.
  • The need of specialization and effectiveness in communicating and reaching out to other faiths with relevance.
  • The requirement for calibrating catalytic efficiency in mission leadership and cross-cultural missionary preparation/training.
